Golden Milk Sleep Tonic

In 2025, it’s time to elevate your wellness routine. These 4 simple yet effective steps will transform your daily habits and help you shine from the inside out.

To make our Golden Milk Sleep Tonic, you will need:

  • 1 cup of milk of choice. We love Pure Harvest Unsweetened Almond Milk as it’s free from any nasty gums or additives.
  • 1 tsp ground turmeric (or 1-inch fresh turmeric root, grated)
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp ground ginger (or 1-inch fresh ginger root, grated)
  • 1 pinch cracked black pepper (to help our bodies absorb the turmeric)
  • 1 tsp honey (locally sourced and organic if possible)

2. Try Short Breathwork Meditations

Breathwork is a powerful way to calm the mind and regulate the nervous system. By focusing on your breath, you can shift into a restorative “rest and digest” state, perfect for transitions, like winding down after work or after a workout.

We recommend Dr Andrew Weil’s 4-7-8 breath technique:

  1. Exhale completely through your mouth, making a whoosh sound.
  2. Close your mouth and inhale quietly through your nose to a count of four.
  3. Hold your breath for a count of seven.
  4. Exhale fully through your mouth to a count of eight.

Repeat for four rounds, and feel your body relax in minutes.

3. Switch to Silk Pillowcases

Swapping from cotton to silk pillowcases is an easy upgrade with big benefits. Silk is gentle on your skin, reducing friction that can cause wrinkles and retaining hydration by not absorbing moisture. Naturally hypoallergenic and cooling, silk also helps prevent irritation, minimises acne, and keeps your skin feeling fresh overnight.

4. Drink More Herbal Tea

Replacing excess coffee and soft drinks with herbal tea is a simple, effective wellness swap. Warm teas aid digestion, while iced teas cool and detox the body on hot days. Herbal teas are packed with antioxidants, help reduce inflammation, and keep you hydrated.

Here are some of our favourites:

  • Iced Green Tea with Manuka Honey: Steep green tea with honey, refrigerate overnight, and enjoy for an antioxidant boost.
  • Dandelion Root Tea: Sipped warm with a splash of almond milk, it’s perfect for digestion and liver detox.
  • Chamomile Tea: Enjoy before bed to relax, soothe the skin, and reduce inflammation.
